About Us

‘Old Lancashire’ was split into several areas back in the 1970’s.Lancashire Division was created to negotiate with Lancashire County Council on behalf of members of the Union in the 11 areas covered within the LA’s current boundary. Blackpool and Blackburn with Darwen were similarly established to cover their unitary authority areas. Greater Manchester District divisions cover the rest. The 11 district Associations within the Lancashire Division control the Division through delegates sent to the Division’s Annual General Meeting, usually in March. The Division helps to enhance and coordinate the work of the associations.Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool each have their own delegates to their AGMs and management meetings.
Members elect Executives which meet monthly to enact policy between full delegate meetings and to hear from our National Executive Member and other officers. You can find out who we are and how to contact us on the Contact Us page. The Division Executives work to help members and move forward Union policy across Lancashire. The three Divisions are exploring ways of working together to help their members ever more effectively.
